Tai Chi classes to begin at Southern Plus Health and Wellness Centre

The Southern Plus Health and Wellness Centre in East Fremantle will soon be expanding its range of exercise classes to include Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a low-impact form of exercise that incorporates slow, gentle and tranquil movements for keeping your mind and body healthy.

 

Commonly recognised as one of the best forms of exercise to increase balance, stability and to prevent falls, Tai Chi is also known to improve relaxation and can be beneficial for those living with arthritis, asthma, diabetes, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Esther Teh, Southern Plus East Fremantle Health and Wellness Centre Manager encouraged seniors to come and try the new Tai Chi classes.

 

“Our classes are based on the ‘Tai Chi for Arthritis’ program which is based on Sun style Tai Chi which has powerful healing abilities helping arthritis sufferers to improve muscular strength, flexibility and fitness. “The great thing about Tai Chi is that it is very easy to learn, and we will accommodate all fitness levels, even those who have never tried Tai Chi before or might be new to exercise,” Esther said.
