Residential respite care – giving peace of mind to carers
As more and more older people choose to continue living in their own home, we recognise that carers play a vital role in our community. This is why we have developed a number of residential respite services and options to ensure that carers are supported in their important role, and can enjoy a well-deserved break when needed.
One example of these services is our recently launched Respite Care Program at Southern Plus East Fremantle. It is designed to give the care recipient everything they need during their short stay, giving the carer peace of mind knowing their loved one is in a comfortable, caring and safe environment.
All Southern Plus East Fremantle respite residents stay in their own private luxury suite in addition to receiving clinical care around the clock, the opportunity to participate in a broad range of activities and enjoy freshly cooked meals. Respite residents live alongside permanent residents, helping to foster connections and ensure that they feel part of our Southern Plus East Fremantle community.
Residential respite care can be beneficial for the following:
- Clients recovering from surgery, illness or an injury requiring short-term respite care before going home.
- Carers going on a holiday or in need of a sudden break for work or other commitments.
- Those who would like to try residential aged care living on a short-term basis, thus helping the transition into permanent residential care if needed in the future.
Whether you require respite services on a planned or emergency basis, our friendly team will discuss your options and assist in planning the kind of respite service that is best suited for you.
